A geometrical Higgs from extra dimensions.

<p>  I  will  discuss  the  possibility of  obtaining  an  electroweak
symmetry   breaking   scalar   from  general   gauge-higgs-unification
scenarios. I will  show that by requiring three  essential features to
be present  automatically ,  most models in  the literature  are ruled
out.  The three  very sensible  conditions are:  viable  models should
automatically lead to  $\rho = 1$, they should  give the correct value
for  Weinberg's angle,  and  lastly they  should  provide the  correct
hypercharge assignments for matter.
