Quantifying the Underlying Event in High-energy pp Collisions from RHIC to LHC
Dr. Gergely Gábor Barnaföldi (Wiger Research Centre fpr Physics, Hungary)
We present a study of the transverse momentum spectra of charged
hadrons and their evolution as a function of their azimuthal position
with respect to the leading particle in proton\u2013proton collisions from
RHIC to LHC energies using the PYTHIA8 Monte Carlo event generator with
the Monash 2013 tune. The spherocity distribution in the same azimuthal
bins is reported. The Multiplicity and midrapidity transverse momentum
spectra of charged hadrons have been analysed in the non-extensive
statistical framework. The results corresponding to the Underlying
Event are reported. This work provides a possible understanding of the
interplay between hard scatterings and the Underlying Event in
proton\u2013proton collisions.
